e-Business complements global supply chains. But e-Business is about more than procurement. According to the research firm Gartner the global market for supply chain management software and services (including applications for procurement software) generated $8.944 billion in 2013. Of this $6.1 billion was spent on non-procurement applications such as supply chain planning and supply chain execution applications such as warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS).
Information exchange standards such as UBL are key to leveraging value from these applications, both for businesses and their technology providers.
This ½ day symposium at the Saturnus Konferens Slussen is an opportunity for managers to identify new e-Business value through the use of UBL across the entire supply chain.
